Home sales and prices in Maine increased in October compared with last year at the same time, according to statistics from the Maine Association of Realtors.
Maine Listings reported 1,651 sales last month, an increase of 10.73% in sales compared with October 2024. The median sale price for homes sold hit $426,000, up 7.85%.
Median prices in Washington County saw the biggest bump (up 23.8%), with the next largest rise coming in Cumberland County (up 6.9%). Lincoln County saw the greatest drop in prices (down 9.3%) and the largest increase in total sales in the state (up 22%).
Nationally, sales of existing single-family homes in October rose 1.9% from October 2024, according to the National Association of Realtors. The median sale price for those homes increased 2.2%.
The market was hotter in the Northeast, where the median sale price rose 6.5% to $503,700, and sales were up 4.3%.
