A house exploded in the town of Oakland on Lakeview Drive on Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
A middle-aged man was transported to Thayer Center for Health in Waterville before he was flown by Life Flight to Maine Medical Center in Portland, Lt. Aaron Turcotte with Maine State Police.
Investigators with the state Fire Marshal’s Office were at the scene to try to determine the cause and the extent of injuries.
A firefighter who answered the phone at the Oakland fire station around 5 p.m. Thursday declined to comment on the explosion but did say that all mutual aid departments that sent firefighters to help have returned back to their stations.
