Maine State Police on Wednesday arrested a Skowhegan man in the shooting death of an Augusta man last month.

Edward Longley, 30, is charged with murder and elevated aggravated assault in connection with the Feb. 2 shooting on Flagg Street in Augusta.

The victim, 51-year-old Billyjack Curtis of Augusta, died from the injuries he sustained. After an autopsy his death was ruled a homicide.

A second victim, 40-year-old Sherry Gilley of Brunswick, was injured during the shooting and is currently recovering from her injuries, according to police.

Longley is being held at Somerset County Jail without bail.
