FRYEBURG — On Wednesday, April 1 Fryeburg Academy’s jazz students will present a variety of classic jazz standards and new compositions at their home venue, the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center. Students have been busy this year performing at local and state jazz festivals as well as a venue in Portland. The performing groups include Fryeburg Academy’s Vocal Jazz Ensembles, Instrumental Jazz Ensemble, known as the “Big Band”,  3 Jazz Combos and the Molly Ockett Jazz Orchestra, known as “MOJO”. Fryeburg Academy’s Big Band and one of its jazz combos recently received a gold medal at the Maine State Instrumental Jazz Festival. The program includes a variety of jazz standards as well as new works.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. and admission is free. An optional donation of $5 per ticket helps support the Fryeburg Academy music program. Reserve seats and donate online at www.fryeburgacademy.org/pac. The LHE/PAC is located at 18 Bradley St. on the campus of Fryeburg Academy.
