Return to the ideals that made America great. A belief that all people are given an innate dignity. That a society built from people who come from every nation, every language, every ethnic group on the planet will be the best. That kindness should bind us.
Injustice weakens us, hatred corrupts us. Put away the thought that those who are different are somehow inferior.
Understand that democracy is messy. Disagreement is part of it. Let’s discuss our viewpoints and come to a better understanding of life and of each other.
Be thankful that among us are many talents, many skills, many gifts. Others have different experiences. In the end, we desire the same thing: Liberty and justice for all.
The prerequisite: Treat others as you yourself want to be treated.
