Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Graham Platner hosted a news conference in Augusta at the Governor Hill Mansion at 11 a.m.

It comes after the news Thursday morning that Maine Gov. Janet Mills would be suspending her campaign. He will likely face Republican Sen. Susan Collins in the November election.

Although Platner’s media appearance was already scheduled for Tuesday morning, along with another in Lisbon Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m., he will likely address Mills’ decision to leave the Democratic Senate race.
