The cost of housing in Maine has skyrocketed in recent years, which has kept many out of the market or locked in homes that don’t fit their needs.
While home prices still vary widely depending on location, the statewide median home price jumped from roughly $240,000 in early 2020 to more than $407,000 as of last month, according to Zillow.
