Multiple agencies are searching Ellsworth’s Graham Lake for a 20-year-old paddleboarder who has been missing since Tuesday.
The Maine Game Wardens and Ellsworth police and fire were dispatched to Graham Lake at approximately 12:15 p.m. Tuesday after a man who left his family camp about an hour and a half earlier had gone missing.
It is believed the man was not using a personal flotation device, according to the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
Officials used a drone, plane, helicopter, dive teams and boats to search for the man, according to the department. The dive teams also used sonar and underwater vehicles during the search.
Ellsworth police and fire responded first and were later joined by the Maine Warden Service, Maine Forest Service, marine patrol and state police.
Teams were still searching for the man into Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
The Ellsworth Fire Department does not currently have its own operating rescue vessel, according to Deputy City Manager Sara Devlin.
