PORTLAND – Camp Susan Curtis is excited to announce Sebago Technics as the Allen Mountain  Sponsor for its Campfire Under the Stars Gala.

The gala will take place Thursday, May 14 at 5:30 p.m. at Brick South on Thompson’s Point in  Portland and will celebrate the life-changing impact Camp Susan Curtis has on Maine children from low-income households.

Sebago Technics, a 100% employee-owned company based in South Portland, has been a deeply  committed partner of Camp Susan Curtis for more than 30 years. Their longstanding support reflects a shared dedication to strengthening Maine communities and ensuring that children across the state have the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

As an organization rooted in building meaningful relationships and sustainable communities, Sebago Technics understands the importance of investing in Maine’s future. Their support extends beyond  financial contributions to hands-on service and in-kind expertise and materials that directly benefits Maine children. Each year, dozens of Sebago Technics employees volunteer their time at Camp Clean Up Day in Stoneham, helping prepare cabins, repair structures and maintain the grounds so campers can arrive to a safe and welcoming environment.

“Camp Susan Curtis holds a very special place in this company’s heart. Thirty years is a long time, but it  doesn’t feel like an obligation — it feels like family. We show up every year because our people genuinely want to be there, and because we know what it means for a child to arrive at camp and feel welcomed and cared for. Supporting this gala is just another way for us to say that we believe in what Camp Susan  Curtis does, and we’re proud to stand behind it,” Kylie Mason, president/COO, Sebago Technics, said.

Camp Susan Curtis is the only camp in Maine that exclusively serves children from low-income households, completely free of charge to families. Since 1974, more than 19,000 Maine children have attended camp, where they learn to swim, kayak, hike, ride bikes and build lifelong friendships in a supportive outdoor setting designed specifically for their needs.

The Campfire Under the Stars Gala will bring together business leaders, community members and longtime supporters to celebrate the magic of camp while raising essential funds to ensure that every eligible child can attend at no cost.

Camp Susan Curtis is the only camp that offers a completely free, 10-day overnight camp experience for Maine children from low-income households, helping them develop foundational skills that positively  impact their future.

Located on 100 acres of pristine conservation land, kids in need get to learn and grow in the beautiful  Maine outdoors. They get to take swimming lessons, learn how to ride a bike, try kayaking or hike a mountain for the very first time. Through supportive relationships with mentors and peers, kids gain the  self-confidence needed to believe in themselves. At camp, kids join a supportive community that encourages them to try new things, connect with nature, build positive relationships and develop the  essential life and leadership skills that help them learn about their limitless potential.
