Husson University celebrated its 127th commencement this weekend with two ceremonies honoring 729 graduates across undergraduate and graduate programs.

Graduate students earning master’s and doctorate degrees were honored Friday with a hooding ceremony at Newman Gymnasium on the Husson campus.

The Chesley Husson Award went to Dan Cashman, host of The Nite Show and a public relations professional, for his work incorporating New England School of Communications students, faculty and staff into the show’s production.

Graduate and undergraduate students gathered Saturday at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor for commencement, and the university awarded 806 degrees to 729 students that day.

Dr. Lon Cardon, president and CEO of Jackson Laboratory, delivered the commencement address and received an honorary doctor of science degree. Melissa Smith, chair, CEO and president of WEX, received an honorary doctor of business administration degree.
