As a retired veteran living in Maine, I know what it means to live on a fixed income in a state where costs keep climbing faster than many workers and retirees can keep up with. Across Maine, taxpayers are facing rising property taxes, higher utility bills, and an economy that simply is not growing fast enough to ease the burden.

That’s why Jonathan Bush’s campaign has my attention. I believe he is the right candidate for governor to fix the problems that are overwhelming Maine taxpayers. Senior citizens who planned carefully for retirement are now struggling just to stay in their homes. Young workers continue to leave for better opportunities elsewhere. They simply cannot afford to live here.

I believe Augusta has become disconnected from everyday reality.

Jonathan Bush understands that most government dollars now come from taxpayer’s paychecks or retirement income. As governor, I believe he will lower taxes by attracting investment and creating an environment where businesses want to locate and grow. As Maine grows its economy, the state can become less dependent on taxing retirees, workers and homeowners. This is the path to long-term relief.

Some readers may not have heard much about Jonathan Bush. He offers a pro-growth, pro-taxpayer vision centered on lowering taxes by increasing economic opportunity, government spending restraint, and helping Mainers stay in their homes. For Maine taxpayers worried about rising property taxes, their cost of living, and an economy stuck in neutral, Bush’s vision, and his plan to implement this vision, deserve your serious consideration.
