I had the privilege of serving alongside Katie Brydon on the Bangor School Committee, and I can honestly say Bangor would be lucky to have her representing District 23 in the Maine House of Representatives in Augusta.

I believe Katie cares deeply about this city and the people who call it home. I saw that firsthand during difficult conversations around school funding, aging buildings, student needs and the very real pressures facing working families. She always came to the table prepared, thoughtful and focused on doing what was right, even when the conversations were difficult.

She understands that strong public schools matter, that families are struggling with rising costs, and that communities like Bangor cannot continue carrying more responsibility with fewer resources. She also cares deeply about protecting the natural beauty and character of this area because she truly values the kind of community we are building for the next generation.

What I appreciate most about Katie is that she leads with both compassion and common sense. She listens to people, treats others with respect and believes we can solve problems without tearing each other apart in the process.

That kind of leadership matters, and it’s why I’ll proudly be voting for Katie Brydon to represent District 23 in the Maine House Augusta.
