I’ve watched Matt Dunlap interact with Mainers in small and large groups. He knows Maine and its people, from one end of the state to the other. His kindness, intelligence, independence and quiet determination stood out.
Matt Dunlap doesn’t get pushed around. When President Donald Trump tried to undermine elections in his first term, Matt stood up to him, forcing Trump to abandon his “commission on election integrity.” Matt stood up to the Democratic Party when he chose to primary U.S. Rep. Jared Golden, seemingly against their wishes. As state auditor, he criticized the state’s inadequate (not fraud) oversight of MaineCare.
In a private capacity, he helped found the Maine Youth Fish and Game Association, which focuses on passing down traditional sporting skills, firearm and outdoor safety, and conservation ethics to the next generation.
I believe Matt will stand up to Trump and the billionaire agenda ravaging everything we care about. He knows fraud when he sees it and how to prosecute it. As a former Maine state representative, he understands what’s involved with crafting good legislation. I believe he’s the man you want in the foxhole with you.
I hope you will join me in voting for Matt as your No. 1 pick in the June 9 primary election.
