Bangor’s Community Connector buses will be free on Tuesday, June 9, for Election Day.

The fare suspension applies to rides on all fixed-route bus service and ADA paratransit service.

Trips will be free regardless of whether riders are headed to the polls, to work, or somewhere else, according to the city.

Even when the bus isn’t free, the city noted that a $45 monthly unlimited Community Connector bus pass costs less than putting 15 gallons of gas in a personal vehicle, which at $4.29 per gallon comes to a little over $64.
