Bangor police arrested two adults and a teenager on Wednesday for allegedly using a baseball bat to beat a man they thought had information about a friend’s stolen car.

According to police, the incident started around midnight when a Bangor officer went to the waterfront near Railroad Street for a report of a stolen vehicle. There the officer spoke with the complainant and her three friends: Serina Beaucher, 28, of Bangor; Bradley Dean, 26, of Brewer; and a 17-year-old from Bangor.

About three hours later, early Wednesday morning, police were called to a Mt. Hope Avenue home where a man reported he had been assaulted with a bat.

Police said they learned that Beaucher, Dean and the 17-year-old had come into the man’s home and assaulted him, with one of them using a bat, while trying to get information about the stolen vehicle.

Patrol officers found Beaucher, Dean and the 17-year old, arrested them, interviewed them and took them to Penobscot County Jail.

All three were charged with burglary to a dwelling. Additionally, Beaucher was charged with aggravated assault, Dean was charged with simple assault and criminal mischief, and the 17-year-old was charged with simple assault.

The stolen vehicle was not found but remains under investigation, police said.
