Pride Greendrinks

When: Tuesday, June 9 5-7 p.m.

Where: Bangor Beer Co

What: A free, family-friendly gathering co-hosted with Bangor Greendrinks. The event features music by DJ ICE GHO$T, a face-painting station, a “best dressed” festive Pride outfit contest and local food and drinks. Bring your own drinking vessel (IDs required to drink). Donations support the Green Grants program for local environmental initiatives.

Pride Paddle at Hirundo Wildlife Refuge

When: Saturday, June 13 from 10 a.m.  to noon

Where: Hirundo Wildlife Refuge (Gate 3), 35 Hudson Road, Alton, ME 04468

What: A joyful, inclusive outdoor adventure on Pushaw Stream. Co-guided by Registered Maine Guide Clark Tate and Naturalist Brianna Guy, this casual, two-hour paddle explores the beautiful diverse natural world with a focus on queerness in nature. The event is free if bringing your own equipment, or $10/hour to rent a kayak/canoe and safety gear (ages 8+ to borrow equipment). Pre-registration is required.

Tie-Dye with Pride & the BARN

When: Wednesday, June 17 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Where: The Bangor Area Recovery Network (the BARN), 142 Center St., Brewer, ME 04412

What: A free, family-friendly afternoon of color and creativity in partnership with Bangor Pride and the BARN. Participants are invited to bring their own items to tie-dye; dye is provided, and a limited supply of bandanas will be available while supplies last. Come connect, create, and celebrate!

Story and Craft Time Launch

When: Third Sunday of the month (Beginning June 21)

Where: Family-friendly location in Bangor (Disclosed to registrants)

What: A new, recurring monthly initiative celebrating Pride through inclusive storytelling that centers LGBTQ+ voices, followed by a hands-on themed craft session. While all ages are welcome, the programming is specifically geared toward younger children and their families. To prioritize the safety and comfort of attendees, Bangor Pride is utilizing a private RSVP model for this program. Please email hello@bangorpride.com for more information, including how to sign up.

Outside with Pride” Queer Ecologies Nature Walk

When: Sunday, June 21 at 12 p.m.

Where: Walden-Parke Preserve, Bangor, ME

What: The second annual nature walk exploring “biological exuberance” and the non-heteronormative animals, plants, and fungi within local ecosystems. Led by volunteer ecology educator and Maine Master Naturalist Nola Prevost, this free educational walk takes place rain or shine. Pre-registration is required through the Bangor Land Trust.

Charlie Howard Memorial Vigil & Walk

When: Sunday, June 28 at 11:30 a.m.

Where: Gathering at the Kenduskeag Stream Bridge, Downtown Bangor

What: A vital community gathering to honor the memory and legacy of Charlie Howard, grounding the month’s celebrations in remembrance and solidarity. The event features coordinated walking routes to the bridge, including paths for local affirming faith communities and a secular route starting from downtown, and will culminate in a reflective vigil and the traditional white rose ceremony at the Kenduskeag Stream.
