A Portland man is accused of stabbing another man in the back Wednesday night.
Patrick Brando, 34, was charged with elevated aggravated assault, refusing to submit to arrest or detention, and violating his conditions of release, according to Brad Nadeau, a spokesperson for the Portland Police Department.
An officer was patrolling the area of Portland and Hanover streets about 10 p.m. when he came upon a 23-year-old man who had been stabbed in the back, Nadeau said Thursday morning.
Police found Brando a short time later.
He was arrested and taken to the Cumberland County Jail.
