A home in Indian Township was damaged by a fire on Tuesday night, but two days later the cause of the blaze remains unknown.

The fire at 19 Wolf Drive in the Passamaquoddy reservation was reported at about 8 p.m. Firefighters arrived to find a fire burning in the living room that had spread into the kitchen, the state fire marshal’s office said in a news release.

The fire was quickly extinguished. No one was home at the time, and no injuries were reported.

The Indian Township Fire Department called on the state fire marshal’s office to investigate the cause.

Investigators spent most of Wednesday at the house and concluded that the fire started in the living room near a couch but weren’t able to determine the exact cause. The investigation is ongoing, the office said.
