Please slow down and take a broader view.

When Jim Longley, our first non-partisan governor, was elected, he was given a Democratic House with a Republican Senate, yet our democracy carried on.

We think the big surprise this time will be a non-partisan lifetime Mainer, named Rick Bennett.

He will be on Maine’s ballot for governor this fall. Bennett has filed more than enough signatures. He has lifelong experience in and out of government and has what we consider an admirable personal reputation.

We urge you to treat him fairly, as he deserves to be treated.
