The Hollis man who died in Saco on Thursday after colliding with a dump truck has been identified.

David Girad, 80, was driving south on Portland Road in a gray 2021 Ford Explorer about 3 p.m. when he crossed the center line, near Waterfall Drive, and hit a black 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 49-year-old Felipe Periana of Westbrook, according to the Saco Police Department.

Girad continued south on the northbound side of the road for about 950 feet before colliding with a blue 2004 Volvo dump truck driven by 69-year-old Kenneth Spiller of Gorham.

Girad died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
