Bangor police arrested 38-year-old Justin Grover on Wednesday in connection with a shooting on Talbot Trail two days earlier.

Just after 11:30 a.m. on Monday a man called 911 to report that he had been shot by someone he didn’t know. The victim told police that he was from Princeton, Maine, and had been camping in the woods off Stillwater Avenue, Bangor police said.

While walking on Talbot Trail, the victim said he was approached by a man who talked to him briefly, then drew a gun and began to shoot at him, police said.

An investigation led police to obtain a search warrant for a residence on Stillwater Avenue.

There, they arrested Grover and charged him with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, a felony.

Police also arrested Kristina Hart, 35, of Bangor, and charged her with obstruction of government administration, disorderly conduct and refusing to submit to arrest, all misdemeanors.

Police said they seized several items of evidence but did not say what they were. They also said future charges are expected.

The victim is expected to recover from his injuries, police said.

Talbot Trail runs from Sylvan Road to Stillwater Avenue. It was named earlier this month in honor of Bangor native and civil rights pioneer Gerald Talbot, who died in May at the age of 94.
