Fort Fairfield pitcher Jonah Leblanc held Telstar to one run over 6 1/3 innings Saturday as the Tigers claimed the Class D baseball state championship with a 4-1 victory over the Rebels at St. Joseph’s College in Standish.

Leblanc allowed seven hits and struck out seven. Cayden Ala closed out the final two outs without allowing a baserunner.

Fort Fairfield broke the game open with a three-run third inning, then added a run in the fourth to build its 4-0 lead. Graedon King led the Tigers at the plate, going 3 for 4 with two RBIs. Ala went 2 for 3 with an RBI and a double.

Telstar got on the board in the seventh on an RBI single by Brennan Walker, who finished 2 for 4. Bryson Walker also went 2 for 4 for the Rebels.

Bryson Walker started on the mound for Telstar but allowed nine hits and four runs over four innings. Brennan Walker took over and held the Tigers scoreless the rest of the way.

Telstar finished with seven hits but left nine runners on base.
