One person died and another was hospitalized in a Tuesday evening crash, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash occurred at around 5:30 p.m. when 63-year-old Ernest Poulos crossed the centerline of Convene Road on his motorcycle and crashed into a Chevy SUV.

According to officials, Thomas Nolan received minor injuries when his SUV struck the motorcycle.

Poulos’ passenger, 62-year-old Mary Delaney of Sebago, received life-threatening injuries and was flown to a Portland hospital following the crash.

Poulos was severely injured in the crash, and died at a Bridgton hospital.

Neither Poulos nor Delaney was wearing a helmet, officials said.

The crash remains under investigation.
