A Sidney man who used social media to receive child sexual abuse materials was sentenced in Bangor court on Thursday.

Jeremy Grignon, 30, was found guilty of using platforms like Snapchat and now-defunct Omegle, to receive the sexually explicit materials. According to court documents, some of the materials were sent to Grignon by the victims of the sexual abuse.

He has been sentenced to five years in prison, followed by seven years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay $5,000 in restitution.
