Months after two children died in Penobscot County there are still no updates from police.
One-year-old Eleanora Ray McLaughlin died of hypothermia on Dec. 28, 2025, at a home in Milford. A 7-month-old baby died March 7 in Bangor.
Few details have been released in the months after their unrelated deaths.
Maine State Police are still investigating Eleanora’s death, spokesperson Shannon Moss said Monday. Bangor police are still investigating the infant’s death, spokesperson Katy England said Tuesday.
Both agencies declined to release any additional details.
Eleanora was living with her twin sister and an older brother at their father’s house at the time of her death. Her manner of death was ruled accidental by the Maine chief medical examiner’s office.
Bangor police have only said there is no threat to the public in connection to the infant’s death.
The medical examiner’s office did not respond to request for comment about the cause of death for the 7 month old. State law requires autopsies for children younger than 3 if there were no medical professionals present at the time of the child’s death.
