Three people were injured Monday in a four-vehicle crash in Portland that involved two dump trucks.
An 82-year-old man was driving a dump truck near the intersection of Washington Avenue and Byfield Road about 12:44 p.m. when he swerved to avoid traffic stopped in front of him, according to Brad Nadeau, a spokesperson for the Portland Police Department.
He then swerved again to avoid oncoming traffic, causing a four-vehicle crash that included a Toyota Tacoma, a Toyota Corolla and another dump truck, Nadeau said.
Both occupants of the Tacoma, a 56-year-old woman and a 79-year-old woman, and the Corolla’s driver, a 25-year-old man, were taken to Maine Medical Center with injuries not considered life-threatening.
The other dump truck’s driver, a 34-year-old man, wasn’t injured.
No charges have been filed.
