This weekend Democrats will convene across the state to begin the nominating process for an unprecedented convention to replace Graham Platner on this November’s ballot for the U.S. Senate race.
The 601-person convention will be held at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor on July 25. The party’s 16 county committees will nominate 500 of those delegates.
Thirteen Democrats are vying to replace Platner and face off against Republican U.S. Sen. Susan Collins.
Here’s what you need to know if you want to help elect delegates for your county and shape the process to pick the party’s new U.S. Senate nominee.
How to register

The deadline is 5 p.m. Thursday, though eligible voters can register the day of.
You will need to provide your name and address, which must match that on your voter registration, as well as your contact information.
