With all the turmoil that’s occurred in the last few days, we can’t lose sight of what I believe is most important. We must defeat Sen. Susan Collins to win back the Senate. I think there’s no better candidate than Nirav Shah for many reasons.
Firstly, he has a dedicated history of fighting for Maine people. Through COVID-19 and beyond, he helped make the hard decisions and had the grace to bear the scrutiny long after the disease was no longer a major threat.
Secondly, I believe he has integrity, as demonstrated in his recent campaign for Maine governor. He traveled our state offering clear, honest solutions to the issues that real Mainers care deeply about.
Thirdly, he has tremendous experience to bring on behalf of Maine. Not gimmicks, not lame catch phrases.
I think Collins is an increasing threat to our state. Has been for years. She frequently talks the talk, then walks the other way. I see her as an expert at straddling the line until it’s time to vote, then finds a loophole to support her rationale. She’s been the deciding vote on too many things that I believe are wrong.
But it’s no use looking in the past. Except to learn from it and not make the same mistakes. I believe Dr. Shah represents the future. He represents what the Senate needs more of. I hope we’ll all do our part so he can represent Maine.
