Maine Democrats gather at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor today to formally pick their nominee against U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, capping a nominating process that began less than three weeks ago after Graham Platner’s exit from the race.
Former Maine Senate President Troy Jackson of Allagash is expected to win after locking down a majority of the convention’s roughly 601 delegates, while biotech CEO Saundra Pelletier of Caribou remains his only declared challenger heading into today’s vote.
Delegates will hear speeches from both candidates before casting ballots. Jackson is expected to speak around 10 a.m. See the video here.
