A wild animal is killing and maiming cats in Bath.
In recent days, several cats have been found dead or with injuries “consistent with wildlife predation,” according to the Bath Police Department.
Most of the attacks have happened in the central part of the city.
Police said that Bath residents can protect their beloved felines by keeping them indoors or supervising them outside, ideally on a leash or in a secure “catio.” They also should not leave pet food outside.
“Bath remains a safe community, and we simply want residents to be informed and take reasonable precautions to protect their pets,” police said.
