A former Bangor man will spend just over a year in prison for trafficking cocaine into eastern Maine.
U.S. District Court Judge Stacey D. Neumann on Wednesday handed down the sentence against 30-year-old Chase Kane, now of Portland, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
After spending 366 days in prison, Kane will serve five years of supervised release.
Kane was arrested on Nov. 7, 2023, after a monthslong investigation into cocaine trafficking in eastern Maine. He was stopped while driving north on Interstate 95 in Newport. Maine drug agents found more than four pounds of cocaine in his vehicle.
The drugs were worth an estimated $200,000, the MDEA said at the time.
Police also seized guns and cash. Two others were arrested along with Kane back in 2023.
Kane would receive shipments of cocaine in the mail from California. Kane and his accomplices made trips to California and Mexico to meet with suppliers, the U.S. attorney’s office said.
He pleaded guilty on Dec. 10, 2025.
