ROCKLAND — Community Investors of Knox County has received a $5,000 grant from United Way of Mid Coast Maine to help income-eligible individuals and families in Knox County meet urgent needs when no other resources are available.
Community Investors of Knox County is a collaborative network of local nonprofit organizations that work together to identify and address unmet needs across Knox County. The network connects community members with opportunities to make a direct impact through charitable giving by sharing specific funding needs and inviting individuals to contribute. Support from United Way of Mid Coast Maine will amplify these community donations, enabling CIKC to meet more needs and strengthen its impact throughout the region.
Through this collaborative approach, CIKC fills gaps in assistance that other community resource programs do not cover. Support may help people become or remain housed, obtain or maintain employment, access medical care, or meet other essential needs. Funds from United Way of Mid Coast Maine will help with expenses such as emergency lodging, car repairs or utility payments. This assistance helps remove barriers to housing and financial stability.
“Flexible support can make all the difference for individuals and families facing a crisis,” Mark Glovin, Penquis regional programs director, said. “Thanks to United Way of Mid Coast Maine, Community Investors of Knox County will be able to help with emergency housing, transportation, utility payments, and other critical needs when no other resources are available.”
