An Enfield man was arrested at his local Dollar General on Tuesday night when police say they found methamphetamine on him.
Alton Whitney, 45, faces charges for numerous offenses, as well as for violating his conditions of release, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies spotted Whitney, who was out on bail and wanted on three felony theft warrants, at the Enfield Dollar General about 9 p.m. and arrested him without incident, the sheriff’s office said Thursday.
During the arrest, deputies found just shy of 2.5 ounces of meth on Whitney. Police later seized a lockbox that allegedly contained fentanyl, meth and prescription pills.
The investigation is ongoing.
