You can meet reporters for The County and the Bangor Daily News and share your thoughts about local news coverage at two free events next week.

The news team is collaborating with local libraries to host the gatherings.

Presque Isle’s session will start at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6, at the Turner Memorial Library, located at 39 Second St. You can chat with Presque Isle and Caribou area reporter Cameron Levasseur and Aroostook Editor Paula Brewer, as well as Jo Easton, BDN senior director of journalism sustainability and partnerships.

Fort Kent’s gathering will start at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, in the C3NT3R Access room at the Fort Kent Public Library, located at 1 Monument Square. St. John Valley reporter Chris Bouchard will be on hand, as will Brewer and Easton.

We’ll have coffee and pastries during these informal meet-and-greets. Everyone is welcome to join us. Bring your questions about how we cover local news in The County and ideas for what sort of information you’d like to see in the news.

You can also bring your digital devices if you have questions about accessing us online, either with a phone, tablet or laptop.
