A woman died Thursday after a collision in Randolph.

Debra Alexander, 62, of Gardiner was driving a 2013 Nissan Versa north on Water Street about 2:12 p.m. when she drifted into the path of a southbound 2024 Buick Encore driven by 51-year-old Marion Porter of China, according to J. Chris Read, the chief deputy of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office.

The collision left Alexander; her passenger, 18-year-old Troy Simonds of Gardiner; and Porter trapped in their vehicles, Read said Friday morning.

Despite attempts to save her life, Alexander died at the scene.

Simonds was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he was treated for severe injuries. Porter was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
