A little after 8 p.m. Wednesday, the Waldoboro Police Department responded to 728 Finntown Road for a report of a man who had been shot.
Police said they determined that, after a brief confrontation, a 29-year-old man was shot in the leg and that the parties were known to each other.
The victim was taken by Waldoboro Emergency Medical Services to the hospital for his injuries. A possible suspect has been identified.
This is an isolated event and there is no threat to the public, Waldoboro Police said Thursday morning.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, the Maine Warden Service and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency all assisted in the investigation.
This investigation is ongoing. Criminal charges are expected against both adult parties involved, according to police.
