Six kids allegedly beat a man on a bridge in Berwick last month.
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with aggravated assault and three 12-year-old boys have been charged with disorderly conduct, while a 10-year-old boy isn’t being charged per state law and the sixth boy’s identity remains a mystery, the Berwick Police Department announced Monday morning.
The boys surrounded the 45-year-old man about 11:36 p.m. on July 10 on the bridge connecting Berwick and Somersworth, New Hampshire.
Some words were exchanged, and when the man tried to push his way through them, the kids allegedly knocked him down and beat him. While he was on the ground, the man was kicked twice in the head, according to police.
Witnesses who came upon the scene honked their horns, sending the kids running into Berwick before eventually crossing back over the Salmon Falls River into New Hampshire.
The man was taken to Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover, New Hampshire, where he was treated for a broken nose and jaw.
