A Farmington man allegedly pointed a gun at a woman and a small child, Thursday, on a highway in Westport, Connecticut.
The incident was reported shortly before 7 a.m. on Route 15 South near Exit 20. Connecticut state troopers were told that it began when the driver of a red Honda sedan brake-checked a woman who was driving with a child in her car, the Hartford Courant reported.
The woman told police the driver of the Honda then pulled alongside her and pointed a gun at her for several seconds.
Police pulled over a Honda suspected of having been involved further down the road, past Exit 13 in Stamford.
The driver, Nicholas Dagostino, 27, of Farmington, allegedly admitted to having a gun under his seat but told police he only waved the holster at the woman.
State police said they found the gun, which had a 12-round magazine loaded with 11 rounds, along with several bags of psilocybin mushrooms, according to the Courant.
Dagostino was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment.
Additionally, he was charged with one count each of first-degree threatening, illegally possessing a weapon in a motor vehicle, possessing a pistol without a permit, illegally possessing a high-capacity magazine, possessing a controlled substance, risk of injury to a minor, second-degree breach of peace and operating a motor vehicle to impede traffic, according to the Courant.
He posted a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Sept. 3.
