A dive team from the Maine Warden Service has recovered the body of a Damariscotta missing woman from Biscay Pond.
Bethany Hancock, 50, was reported missing at about 6 a.m. Thursday by her husband, who had last seen her around 10 p.m. the night before, the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife said in a news release.
The Warden Service and Damariscotta Police Department found a swim float mat that is usually tied to the dock out floating a couple of hundred yards in front of the dock.
Searchers were unable to find Hancock using boats and a drone. A dive team from the Warden Service ultimately found her body at about 4:45 p.m.
Her death is not considered suspicious, Maine IF&W said.
Biscay Pond in Lincoln County borders the towns of Damariscotta, Bristol and Bremen.
