A 70-year-old Edgecomb man died Saturday afternoon after what investigators believe was a medical event caused his pickup truck to cross the center line and strike two parked vehicles, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:54 p.m. on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay.
The man’s 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 crossed into the northbound lane, entered a driveway and struck the parked vehicles before coming to rest against a shed, police said. Emergency personnel attempted to resuscitate the driver at the scene but were unsuccessful.
Speed and alcohol are not considered factors. The cause of death is pending determination by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
