ORONO — The Kiwanis Club of Orono-Old Town invites the community to its 79th Annual Auction & Yard Sale, taking place Friday, Aug. 21 and Saturday, Aug. 22 at the Kiwanis Auction Grounds, 168 Forest Ave. in Orono.
A cherished community tradition for nearly eight decades, the two-night fundraising event brings together hundreds of residents in support of local youth programs and community initiatives throughout the Orono and Old Town area.

Visitors can browse five buildings filled with yard sale treasures, including furniture, appliances, household goods, tools, books, toys, entertainment items and collectibles.
After shopping, guests are invited to the covered outdoor auction area, where live auctions will feature a wide variety of donated merchandise throughout both evenings. Popular gift cards and items donated by local businesses are always among the event’s most anticipated auction offerings.
Hungry? The on-site snack bar will serve classic favorites including hot dogs, popcorn, ice cream, refreshing beverages and the club’s popular strawberry and blueberry shortcake.
“This event is the heart of our fundraising efforts and a true celebration of community,” Brenda Stevenson, president of the Kiwanis Club of Orono-Old Town, said. “We are grateful for the continued support of local businesses and residents who make it a success year after year.”
