An ATV crash Friday left a rider with life-threatening injuries and sparked a small fire in Greenfield, according to the Milford fire and rescue department.
Milford and Greenbush fire departments responded to County Road at approximately 5:45 p.m.
After the crash the ATV came to rest against a tree and caught fire, igniting a roughly quarter-acre wildland fire that crews quickly extinguished.
The rider was taken to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Old Town Fire Rescue provided additional medical support during transport.
Maine Forest Rangers, Maine Game Wardens and the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene.
