Central Maine Healthcare has agreed to a $1.3 million settlement to a class action lawsuit over a data breach last year.
The incident happened between March and June 2025, prompting the healthcare system to notify more than 218,000 people that a third party may have accessed their personal information.
The settlement allows affected individuals to receive up to $5,000 and free medical records monitoring for a year.
Those affected by the breach must submit claims by Sept. 28. Claim forms and other details can be found on a website dedicated specifically to Central Maine Healthcare’s settlement.
The Androscoggin County Superior Court will hold a final approval hearing on the settlement at the end of October.
