U.S. Sen. Susan Collins doesn’t seem concerned enough to do anything about President Donald Trump’s out-of-control spending for the Iran War or for his vanity projects, which no one asked for. The blog Scott MacFarlane Reports found that more than $323 million has been funneled from the National Park Service to Trump’s vanity projects on the White House grounds.
Heather Cox Richardson reports that another $100 million has been allotted to the National Mall this year. The $423 million allocated this year for projects at the White House and the National Mall is more money, MacFarlane notes, than had been allotted to Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Grand Teton, Mammoth Cave, Zion and Joshua Tree National Parks, Golden Gate National Recreation Area and the Statue of Liberty complex combined.
Meanwhile, the Trump administration spends millions on electric shock gloves for ICE troops to terrorize not only immigrants but also American citizens. We have to pay over $4 a gallon for gas. Groceries keep going up. And we have trouble paying for healthcare if we are fortunate enough to find a doctor.
And Sen. Collins, with her leadership roles on the Appropriations Committee, does essentially nothing.
