WATERVILLE – The Alfond Youth & Community Center announced a strategic restructuring of its leadership team designed to strengthen operations, expand community partnerships, enhance fundraising efforts and position the organization for continued growth and impact.
The leadership changes reflect AYCC’s commitment to aligning expertise with its core program areas while creating greater capacity to fulfill its mission and serve the needs of individuals, families and community members throughout the region.
As part of the restructuring, Patrick Guerette has been named chief of development and strategic partnerships. In this newly created role, Guerette will serve as the organization’s lead fundraiser while providing strategic leadership for new business opportunities and partnerships. He will also oversee membership, marketing and development efforts. Guerette previously served as AYCC’s chief operations officer and has been a member of the organization’s leadership team since 2012.
The former chief operations officer position has been restructured, with responsibilities distributed among key leaders to provide focused oversight of AYCC’s major program and operational areas.
Kate Roy has been appointed executive director of YMCA programs, overseeing aquatics, athletics, martial arts, wellness and other YMCA-related programs. Roy has been with the AYCC since 2022.
DJ Adams has been named executive director of Boys & Girls Club programs, overseeing after school and teen programs, mentoring, the summer enrichment program and other BGCA-related initiatives. Adams joined the AYCC in 2018.
Abbie Vidas has been appointed executive director of camp & hospitality services. She will oversee Camp Tracy programs and activities while leading the continued growth of The Lodge at McGrath Pond operations, events and hospitality services. Vidas has been with AYCC since 2017.
Corenna Howard, AYCC’s chief financial officer, will expand her leadership responsibilities to include oversight of the organization’s information technology and facilities departments. Howard joined the team in June.
“Since I joined the AYCC team at the beginning of this year, it has become progressively clear that these individuals provide the organization the best opportunity for success in the future,” Steven Scraggs, Ph.D., chief executive officer of the AYCC, said. “By aligning leadership with their areas of expertise, we are strengthening our ability to support our mission, create new opportunities and serve our community at the highest level.”
The new structure enhances accountability across key areas of the organization while providing increased focus on fundraising, program excellence, operational efficiency and strategic growth. Together, these changes position AYCC to expand its impact and ensure the long-term sustainability of the programs and services that thousands of community members rely on each year.
