An Aroostook County man has been arrested and charged with starting an Aug. 25 fire at the mobile home he was renting in the town of Crystal.

Walker Craig, 25, of Crystal, was charged with arson and aggravated criminal mischief after the state fire marshal’s office found that the fire at 713 Crystal Road was intentionally set.

The Patten Fire Department requested inspectors from the fire marshal’s office at the scene of the small, early morning fire. The investigators in consultation with the Aroostook County District Attorney’s Office determined that Craig attempted to burn down the mobile home he had been renting.

Craig was arrested on Friday and taken to Aroostook County Jail, where he is being held on $10,000 cash bail.
