A Minnesota man allegedly assaulted a police officer Saturday evening after an angry outburst over the wait time on the tarmac at Bangor International Airport.

Jeffrey Wazenegger, 59, has been charged with disorderly conduct, refusing to submit to arrest and assault on a police officer, according to Sgt. Jeremy Brock, a spokesperson for the Bangor International Airport.

Wazenegger allegedly was yelling and being aggressive toward staff and passengers while waiting on the tarmac about 6:43 p.m.

When police officers confronted him, Wazenegger allegedly attempted to push past them to leave the sky bridge. He then allegedly resisted as officers tried to detain him, leaving on with minor injuries, according to Brock.

Wazenegger was arrested and taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
