A naked man with a golf club dancing around Nubble Island off York allegedly damaged the iconic lighthouse there.
The man, whose identity wasn’t made public, was allegedly trespassing at Cape Neddick Lighthouse, also known as Nubble Light, about 6:13 p.m. Tuesday, according to the York Police Department.
He was allegedly naked, armed with a golf club, danced around the island and damaged part of the lighthouse, York police said Sunday.
Police took him into custody without incident and brought him to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.
The man had recently been asked to leave several York establishments because of disruptive but not criminal behavior, according to police.
