A man was hit by a train in Auburn on Tuesday afternoon.
Cornelius Williams, 32, was pushing a cart along the railroad tracks between Elm and Court streets about 3:24 p.m., according to the Auburn Police Department.
The train operators alerted Williams to move away from the tracks, but he reportedly didn’t and was then hit by the train, Auburn police said.
Williams was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Auburn, where he was treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The collision remains under investigation.
