A New Hampshire man was charged after crashing at an Interstate 95 construction site in Kennebunk early Wednesday morning.
Brandon Perry, 28, of Dover, New Hampshire, has been charged with driving to endanger, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Perry was driving a gray 2020 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck north on I-95, near mile marker 24, about 1:25 a.m. when he crashed into several traffic cones and a mobile construction sign board.
Crews had to use heavy-duty wrecking equipment to pry the sign free from the truck, Moss said.
At the time of the crash, construction workers were about 100 yards away making repairs to a bridge, according to Moss.
Perry told troopers that he had been experiencing mechanical issues before the crash. Investigators determined speed and the condition of the truck contributed to the crash, according to Moss.
Perry was evaluated at the scene and declined further medical treatment.
